No I don't, cause I know it annoys the hell out of me when people thank me for the favorite especially when I commented on their work and they don't reply to the comment and say their thanks there so it leaves annoying spam on my profile. So I don't do it cause I know others dislike it as well... a lot of others.

Yeah but if they thanked you and answered your comment they could do it in one which brings up how ppl should reply although some dislike it there are also others that do like it i respect your opinion although i do think people should thank them to be polite

I'd very much prefer them thanking when replying to my comment than leaving a thanks on my page.
Maybe those who genuinely want to thank others for faves to be polite and are actually thankful should send a note so those who dislike it won't think of it as a cheap way of self advertising for more people to see them, which some tend to think so... and some people actually do use this technique of saying 'thanks for the fave' on peoples profiles as self advertising.
But then again it's kind of hard to tell if people really mean it or not when some people do use it like that. But I'd find their thanks more genuine if it wasn't displayed on profiles, cause you don't need everyone to see that you thanked someone, and if some people started thanking like that I think some people would be more appreciative of their thanks and won't see it as self advertising.

well i never really considered that ppl would just use it to advertise themselfs as i don't know many who do although i'm sure there are some ppl like that who do. if i recieved a comment i'd thank them on the coment unless i dodn't see it. As for the note thing it's a gd idea but i'm not sure if many would bother to do it although if they couldn't be bothered they are obviously not thankful. I don't think to use it as self advertising is right but thats what deviantart adverts are for although ppl whouldn't want to pay for it. I wish there was someway to tell if ppl are genuine and if the ppl they are thanking would mind it or not but i may consider the note but still either way i do think some thanks is required. i want you to understand that i'm not picking a fight or anything cause i don't think fights on here are nessisary i am just generaly interested in your views as ppl can learn a lot from other ppl.
